Who is the Course For? Anyone involved in the workplace who needs to obtain the First Aid at Work Certificate. (Certificate valid for 3 years).
The First Aid at Work Regulations state that a two-day refresher course must be undertaken before the validity of this certificate expires. The Health and Safety Executive strongly recommend that all delegates carry out a three hour update session annually to maintain skill levels.

Course Content: Responsibilities of a First Aider – dealing with hazards, safety of casualty, Resuscitation – Practical CPR – dealing with choking, asthma etc. Treatment and control of bleeding – dealing with different wounds, Recognition and treatment of shock, Management of the unconscious casualty – including head injuries, epilepsy etc. Contents of First Aid boxes and their uses, Recognition of illness, Treatment of injuries to bones, muscles and joints, Treatment of minor injuries, Treatment of burns and scalds, Eye irrigation, Poisons, Simple record-keeping, Personal hygiene in treating wounds, Communication and delegation in an emergency
